Monday’s high school track/tennis: After busy tennis weekend, Amherst rolls past Lenox

Fresh off a busy weekend advancing through the individual sectional tournament, the Amherst Regional girls tennis team returned to the court Monday and beat Lenox 5-0 at Amherst Middle School.

Sisters Nicole McCann (first singles) and Allison McCann (second singles), and the second doubles team of Sarah Knapp and Hannah Lang, all won in straight sets a day after advancing through early round action in the championship.

Amherst’s first doubles team of Amutha Muthukumar and Samantha Doctor also won in straight sets. They earned a bye did not play over the weekend.

Veronica Suchodolski, who did not play in the tournament, won in three sets.
