Area police news
■ James Arnelle Hicks, 32, of 12 Longmeadow Drive, Unit 22, was arrested Saturday at 10:22 p.m. on West Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (second offense) and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
■ Matthew J. Kress, 22, of Westwood, was arrested Saturday at 4:03 a.m. on Main Street on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
■ Michael J. Messier, 22, of West Brookfield, was arrested Saturday at 2:15 a.m. at an Amherst home on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
■ Michael S. McLaughlin, 42, of 25 Green Ave., was arrested Friday at 9:22 p.m. on Federal Street on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
■ Derrick Budreau, 20, of 121 North Main St., Unit Q2, was arrested Friday at 1:05 p.m. on Ware Road on a warrant.
■ Police took a report Sunday at 11:02 p.m. that a white man in a black hooded sweatshirt approached the McDonald’s drive-thru window on foot, reached in and stole a purse containing $550 worth of property.
■ A purse containing $105 was reported stolen from an unlocked car parked on Main Street Sunday afternoon.
■ Andrew R. Oliveira, 19, of 7 Pleasant St., Huntington, will be summoned to court to face charges of leaving the scene of property damage, speeding and violating marked lanes after police said he struck a utility pole in the area of 228 Park St. Sunday at 12:53 a.m. Southampton Police found Oliveira parked on Line Street at 2 a.m., police said.
■ Justin E. Gaudette, 41, of 11 Orchard St., Apt C. was arrested at home Feb. 24 at 11:07 p.m. on a charge of domestic assault and battery after he allegedly slammed his girlfriend’s head into the wall. She declined medical treatment, police said.
■ Roger Baker, 34, of 5 Broderick St., Apt. 2L, was arrested at home Feb. 23 at 11:13 p.m. on charges of assault and violating an abuse prevention order after he allegedly swung his arms at his ex-girlfriend.
■ Darbie Lynn Young, 35, who gave her address as the streets of Northampton, was arrested Sunday at 4:04 p.m. on a trespassing charge after police said she refused to leave an apartment at the Walter Salvo House on Conz Street.
■ Darryl James Hubbard, 56, of Springfield, was arrested Feb. 27 at 12:22 a.m. on East Pleasant Street on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense).
