Araceli Roman of Amherst charged in alleged stabbing of Holyoke man
AMHERST — An Amherst woman was arrested at her home Monday night after she allegedly stabbed a Holyoke man during an altercation.
Araceli Roman, 42, of 30 Gatehouse Road, Apt. 105, was arrested at 8:54 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a kitchen knife), said Police Detective Lt. Ronald Young.
Young said police were notified by emergency room personnel at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton that they treated a 48-year-old patient with non-life-threatening stab wounds following an incident in Amherst.
Police responded to the hospital and traced the incident back to Roman’s home at Echo Village Apartments, where she was taken into custody.
Roman was held on $500 cash bail at the Hampshire Jail and House of Correction.
