Monday’s field hockey: Amherst knocks off West Springfield for first win

Marion Carr scored her first varsity goal and coach Kiley Allosso picked up her first career victory as the Amherst Regional field hockey team went on the road to beat West Springfield 2-0 on Monday afternoon.

Jules Brissette added another tally for the Hurricanes (1-5).

Nadia Squitiero made six saves in the shutout.

Northampton 3, Palmer 0 — Emily Allcroft, Kerry Fleming and Missie Maiewski each scored as the Blue Devils (4-0, 3-0 Central) remained undefeated with the road win.

Emily Poehlein and Emily Biggs each had one assist, while Dana Dufour made one save for the shutout.

South Hadley 2, East Longmeadow 0 — Dominique Wilkins had a goal and an assist as the Tigers (3-2, 3-1 Central) won on the road.

Taylor Guertin also scored, while Sam Brault made 13 saves, including one on a penalty stroke.

Smith Academy 2, Greenfield 0 — Danielle Duseau and Katie Yagodzinski each tallied as the Falcons (4-1, 4-1 North) earned the road shutout.

Lauren Grondin and Kelly Ryan picked up an assist apiece for Smith.

Lauren Bradford made two saves in the win.
