Saturday’s preps: Aidan Greenwood paces Williston boys soccer in season opener

Aidan Greenwood of Easthampton had a goal and an assist as the Williston boys soccer team beat Canterbury 2-0 in their season opener Saturday.

William Flynn also scored, while Aaron James, of Amherst, had an assist in New Milford, Conn.

Girls soccer

Worcester Academy 2, Williston 1 — Maddie Hatch scored but the Wildcats (0-1) dropped their opener Saturday.

Boys cross country

Kent 22, Williston 35 — Christian Knapp placed fourth in 18 minutes, 4 seconds but the Wildcats (0-1) fell at home Saturday.

Girls cross country

Williston 27, Kent 30 — Rachel Rockwell passed three Kent runners in the final half mile to place first overall in 21:57 and guide the Wildcats (1-0) to the win at home Saturday.

Boys water polo

Williston 10, Choate 8; Brunswick 13, Williston 1 — James Hatch scored five goals and had three assists for the Wildcats (1-1) in the win over Choate Saturday.
