Wrong-way driver arrested for OUI in Northampton, and other area police news
■ Police are warning residents of possible scams after an Amherst woman reported receiving an email that appeared to be from a friend requesting that she wire $250 to the Philippines. After sending the money, the woman learned the email was a hoax and that her friend’s email account had been hacked.
■ Teresa C. Perrier, 53, of 128 College Highway, Apt. 100, was arrested Sunday at 3:13 a.m. on East Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of property damage and failing to stay within marked lanes.
■ Police are investigating a break-in to an apartment on Greenleaves Drive reported Monday at 10:51 a.m.
■ Joel Francis Williamson, 27, of Bridge Street, was arrested at 2:13 a.m. Tuesday on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and driving the wrong way on a one-way street. Police stopped Williamson on King Street after they said he was seen taking a left turn onto Summer Street, which is one way.
■ Darbie Lynn Young, 35, whose address is listed as the streets of Northampton, was arrested at 5:23 p.m. Monday on Main Street a Northampton District Court warrant related to charges of assault and battery on a disabled or elderly person.
■ Lee Betters, 29, of 184 Bay Road, Belchertown, was arrested Aug. 8 at 9:13 p.m. on Massachusetts Avenue on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, improper operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with no inspection sticker and carrying a dangerous weapon.
