AREA POLICE NEWS
■ Colleen M. Moylan, 24, of Bourne, was issued a citation for failure to use care in turning after the vehicle she was driving from East Pleasant Street into a parking lot Thursday at 4:42 p.m. collided with bicyclist Stephen J. Donahue, 21, of Plainville, who was riding in the bicycle lane, police said.
Donahue suffered a laceration to his arm and was transported by Amherst Fire Department ambulance to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton for treatment, police said.
■ Cassandra L. Jeschke, 17, of 185 Wildflower Drive, was issued citations for failure to yield to oncoming traffic and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after the vehicle she was driving from South East Street onto College Street Thursday at 3:21 p.m. collided with a vehicle driven by Phoebe J. Merriam, 31, of 20 Western Lane, police said.
Merriam and two children in the vehicle, Dylan Welcome, 8, and Jamison Welcome, 20 days, were all evaluated by Amherst Fire Department paramedics, police said. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, according to police.
■ Christopher Brook Lynch, 59, of Hawley Street, Northampton was arrested Thursday at 3:31 p.m. on charges of disorderly conduct (subsequent offense) and resisting arrest. Police said Lynch was seen urinating in public at the Hampton Court Apartments on Hampton Avenue and swung a cane at an officer.
■ A Florence man was transported to the hospital following a two-car crash Thursday at 4:03 p.m. on Damon Road. Police said William T. Chan, 64, of Ryan Road, Florence, was driving east on Damon Road when his car was struck by another vehicle driven by Virginia Keough, 22, of Rocky Hill Road, Hadley that was turning into a parking lot.
Police said Chan was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital after he told them he had briefly lost conciousness following the crash. Keough was cited for failure to use care in turning.
■ Jon W. Melanson, 34, of 18 Campbell Drive, Easthampton, was arrested on Line Street May 8 at 1:25 a.m. on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol, speeding and a marked lanes violation.
■ Michael R. Thivierge, 53, of 59 College Highway, Apt. 8, Southwick, was arrested on College Highway May 4 at 1:15 a.m. on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (third offense).
■ Nancy M. Demerski, 65, of 128 College Highway, was arrested at her home May 3 at 5:54 p.m. on a charge of disorderly conduct.
