Weekend Planner: Dance
Appearing tonight at Amherst’s Gallery A3 as part of “Cross Pollination,” a monthly program that fosters dialogue between different art forms, dancer/choreographer Alicia Morton will perform “Flown,” an original work expressive of Morton’s mindful approach to dance and reflecting her training in the techniques of Martha Graham and in Butoh and Indian dance.
“I admire something that holds back a little and invites people in,” says Morton. “That stillness, seeing that lack of overt emotion. ... It can strike a deeper chord with the viewer. There’s something about a still place that’s very powerful.”
