Town Meeting information available to Amherst voters
AMHERST — A review of the warrant for the fall Town Meeting takes place Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Town Room at Town Hall.
The review, sponsored by the Town Meeting Coordinating Committee and the League of Women Voters, will feature members of town boards, municipal staff and committees, as well as petitioners.
Town Meeting begins Nov. 19.
A series of precinct meetings will be held starting Nov. 13.
These will occur:
∎ Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the library at Crocker Farm School for Precincts 7 and 8;
∎ Nov. 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the middle school for Precincts 2 and 9;
∎ Nov. 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. at North Amherst Church parish hall for Precincts 1 and 3;
∎ Nov. 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the police station community room for Precincts 5 and 6;
∎ and Nov. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the police station community room for Precincts 4 and 10.
A bus tour will be held Nov. 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. in which participants will visit sites related to Town Meeting articles. People will board the bus at the middle school parking lot starting at 1:45 p.m.

In other town news, the Puerto Rican flag will be raised in front of Town Hall during a ceremony Friday beginning at 3 p.m.
The annual raising of the flag follows a proclamation issued by the Select Board declaring Nov. 18 Puerto Rican Day in Amherst.
The flag is expected to remain flying through Thanksgiving.
