Police news: arrests and reports for Amherst, Hadley, Northampton, Easthampton, Granby, Pelham, Southampton and Belchertown
Julia E. Swanson, 19, of 772 North East St., was driving her vehicle southbound on South East Street when it crossed into the northbound lane and left the road, striking a utility pole near 1555 South East St. at 4:02 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
Swanson was taken by Amherst Fire Department ambulance to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, where she was treated and released, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Western Massachusetts Electric Co. was called to repair the pole, and Swanson’s vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
Police are investigating a break-in at a South East Street home reported at 9:01 p.m. Tuesday in which a laptop and television set were stolen. Police said there were no signs of forced entry and the home appeared to have been entered through an unlocked window.
William M. Dietz, 34, of Chicopee, was arrested on New Ludlow Road at 1:55 a.m. June 4 on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.
Monica L. St. Andre, 31, of Chicopee, was arrested on East State Street at 2:32 a.m. June 3 on four warrants issued by Holyoke District Court.
A motorist was uninjured after striking a deer on West State Street at 7:14 a.m. May 31. The deer was euthanized by police.

Jesse Carlson, 32, of Chichester, New Hampshire, was arrested on West State Street at 4:21 a.m. May 30 on a warrant issued by Worcester District Court.
Kenneth L. Meikle, 24, of 166 East Hadley Road, Unit 87, Amherst, was arrested at 10:51 a.m. Monday on South Maple Street on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
Ahmyee M. Lamoureux, 29, of 81 Conz St., Apt. 725, was arrested at 4:41 p.m. Tuesday at home on a warrant issued from Holyoke District Court on a charge of possession of a Class A drug (heroin).
Police received a report at 8:03 a.m. Tuesday that stone and lumber worth about $2,870 had been stolen from a work site at Hampton Court Apartments on Hampton Avenue.

Derek W. O’Brien, 42, of Sterling, Illinois, was arrested on Pomeroy Meadow Road at 3:43 a.m. May 11 on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and failing to stay within marked lanes after another motorist notified police about his alleged erratic driving.
Robert G. Rancourt, 56, of 324 Main St., Apt. I, Easthampton, was arrested on College Highway at 2:58 a.m. May 11 on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (second offense), operating a motor vehicle with a license suspended for operating under the influence of alcohol, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failing to stay within marked lanes. Rancourt’s unregistered vehicle had no license plate, according to police.
Steven E. Chartier, 45, of Holyoke, was arrested on Cold Spring Road at 2:34 a.m. May 6 on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (third offense), unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failing to stay within marked lanes.
Anthony R. Leblanc, 29, of 3 Freyer Road, was arrested there at 11:47 p.m. May 1 on charges of domestic assault and battery and reckless endangerment of a child after he allegedly choked the mother of his child at their home and then drove away with the baby not secured in a car seat.
Karen J. Andrade, 50, of 21 East St., was arrested on College Highway at 10:58 a.m. May 1 on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
