Thief steals Christmas gifts from Shrewsbury church

The toys, clothes, boots and other items were stolen sometime Tuesday by a thief or thieves who broke down the door of a storage shed at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic church.

Food pantry manager Joanne Keegan tells WFXT-TV the theft was “heartbreaking.”

The items had been gathered over the past year and many were requests from children who went to the pantry.

Shrewsbury police are investigating and Pawtucket, R.I.-based toymaker Hasbro Inc. says it will replace the stolen toys.
