Workshop on technology’s effects on children to be held
SOUTHAMPTON — Parents concerned about how the use of technology might influence their childrenare invited to a free workshop, “Parenting Well in the Age of Technology.”
The workshop will be held April 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the William E. Norris School on Pomeroy Meadow Road, but it is not a school-sponsored event.
The workshop will explore topics including the effects of technology on children’s health and what to do for children who seem to be “addicted to their devices,” according to a press release from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which is sponsoring the event through the town’s local council.
The event is also sponsored by the Edward’s Public Library.
Susan McNamara, a certified holistic health counselor with a master’s degree in counseling psychology, will lead the workshop. She has been researching the issue for almost 20 years, according to the release.
To reserve a place at the workshop, contact McNamara at (413) 527-2230.
