Belchertown workshop focuses on special education advocates
A free workshop on the role an advocate can play in supporting children in special education will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. at 1 Main St. in Belchertown. Presented by special education advocates Ingrid Flory and Maribel Kane, the workshop, “Special education advocates: how can they help me?”, will provide information about how an educational advocate can help to identify and secure the services a child needs to be successful in school. Additonal information will seek to empower families to become better advocates for their children and help families successfully navigate the special education system. Attendees will also learn about when to consider hiring an advocate and how to find and select an advocate that will meet your family’s needs.
Space is limited; RSVP’s are requested. Contact Ingrid@kidfirst.net, 413-320-5339; or firstname.lastname@example.org, 246-0882.
Light refreshments will be served.
