Guilford Mooring, John Waskiewicz II win Hadley Select Board seats 

HADLEY - Guilford Mooring and John Waskiewicz II were elected to the Select Board in the only contested race in Tuesday's town election.

Mooring received 604 votes, and Waskiewicz got 496. This is the first elected office for each in Hadley.

Defeated were Wilfred Danylieko with 394 votes and John Mieczkowski with 335.

Mooring, 48, is superintendent of the Amherst Department of Public Works.

Waskiewicz, 50, is assistant chief operator of the town's wastewater treatment plant and a volunteeer firefighter in Hadley.

A total of 1,051 residents cast ballots Tuesday, nearly 28 percent of some 3,800 registered voters in Hadley.
