Sen.-elect Elizabeth Warren names key staff

Warren, a Democrat who defeated incumbent Republican Sen. Scott Brown last month, also named two other former campaign staffers to her Senate staff. Dan Geldon, a senior campaign adviser, will serve as deputy chief of staff and Roger Lau, the campaign’s political director, will be Warren’s state director.

As campaign manager, Myers oversaw all aspects of fundraising and strategy for the Warren campaign, which shattered state records by raising more than $40 million.

Myers ran the successful campaign of U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Connecticut, in 2010. She also served as chief of staff to U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-Rhode Island, after managing his successful campaign in 2006.

Myers was the New Hampshire state director for President Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign in 2008 and previously worked in the legislative affairs office for President Bill Clinton.

“Mindy, Dan and Roger bring energy, dedication, and years of experience to their roles, and they will give exceptional service to the people of Massachusetts,” Warren said in a statement.

Geldon previously served as an adviser to Warren at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in Washington.

Lau has previously held staff positions for two other Massachusetts Democrats, Sen. John Kerry and U.S. Rep. Richard Neal.
