Alleged drunken motorcyclist crashes through South Hadley rotary — and other area police news


■ Michael J. Adams, 55, of Springfield, was arrested on East Street at 10:35 a.m. Sept. 12 on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

■ Leah Brownstein, 35, of Springfield, was arrested on East State Street at 7:34 p.m. Sept. 10 on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

■ Granby Liquor Store, 60 West State St., reported at 9:42 a.m. Sept. 10 that a customer attempted to pay for items with a $100 bill that an employee deemed to be counterfeit. Police said they do not believe the customer knew the bill was counterfeit.

■ Police responded to a report from a driver who struck a deer on Burnett Street at 10:26 a.m. Sept. 9. The deer was killed but the driver was not injured and no traffic was blocked, according to police.


■ Police are investigating after an iPad worth about $600 was stolen from a vehicle parked on Hampton Avenue sometime between Friday night and Tuesday afternoon. Police said the alleged victim believes the car doors were locked, but there were no signs of forced entry.

■ Danielle Lorene Clemons, 43, of Bellows Falls, Vt., was arrested about 1:23 a.m. on Conz Street on a federal warrant. According to police, Clemons was being sought as a material witness in a Vermont criminal trial.

South Hadley

■ Hector Alfonzo Velez, 18, of Holyoke, was arrested at 11:01 p.m. Sept. 14 on the Muller Bridge on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, attaching plates to a motor vehicle, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, speeding and on a Holyoke District Court warrant after police responded to a report of a car revving its engine.

■ A female resident on Riverboat Village Road reported at 5:39 p.m. Sept. 14 that her patio table had been stolen within the past few hours.

■ John Paul Cebula, 61, of Three Rivers, was arrested at 4:05 p.m. Sept. 11 on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and a marked lanes violation after crashing his motorcycle on the Route 202 Rotary, police said. He suffered minor injuries and refused medical assistance, police said.
