Driver faces homicide charge in Cape Cod crash

Benjamin Shealey of Cambridge was held without bail after pleading not guilty Wednesday in Orleans District Court to 10 additional charges, including vehicular homicide, in connection to the Saturday crash.

Police say the 32-year-old Shealey struck and killed 62-year-old Albert Della Malva at the bus stop, before striking the car, sending two adults and two children to the hospital.

Authorities say Shealey was fleeing from Harwich police, who had received reports of an erratic driver.

Shealey’s lawyer says his client has no memory of the accident. The attorney said Shealey takes medication for a mental condition.
