Amherst police news

■ Michael T. Haynes, 21, of 19B Graves St., South Deerfield, was arrested at 12:21 a.m. Friday on Main Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, reckless operation of a motor vehicle to endanger and equipment violations after he was stopped for a headlight violation and flat tires, police said.

■ Police reported three motor vehicles had windows broken and items taken on Thursday and Wednesday. The right front passenger window was broken and a GPS was reported taken from a vehicle at a North East Street residence at 2:14 a.m. Thursday.

On Wednesday, a late-model laptop was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Bridge Street residence at 7:51 p.m., and a computer valued at $1,200 was reported taken from a vehicle at the Amethyst Brook parking lot on Pelham Road at 10:36 p.m.

Police said the incidents are under investigation.
