Police investigate death of 34-year-old Easthampton man found in Pulaski Park gazebo

He declined to identify the man because police are still working to contact his family.

McMahon said a police officer went to the gazebo in Pulaski Park — the small park in the center of the rotary in downtown Easthampton — at 10:02 a.m. after a caller reported a man appeared to be sleeping there. Officers on the scene realized the man was dead, and cordoned off the area immediately.

“Anytime there is an unattended death it has to be fully investigated,” he said. “It is still under investigation but there’s nothing suspicious at this time.”

He said the medical examiner already came to the scene and removed the body, and it will be up to that department to determine the cause of death.
