Woman pleads guilty to fatally stabbing husband
MEDFORD (AP) — A Medford woman has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the fatal stabbing of her husband two years ago. Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone said 40-year-old Shawntina Burston entered her plea Monday in Middlesex Superior Court. She was sentenced to 10 to 12 years in state prison.
Leone said Burston stabbed her 34-year-old husband, Troy Burston, with a kitchen knife during an argument the night of Jan. 30, 2011. Police found him lying in a snow bank outside their Exchange Street home. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. His wife was arrested at the scene. The couple had two young children.
