Two sent to hospital following head-on collision on Pleasant Street in Northampton
NORTHAMPTON — Two people, including a 21-year-old Northampton woman, were sent to the hospital last night following a head-on collision on Pleasant Street that is still under investigation by police.
Madison L. Davis of 73 Bridge St., Apt. 27, and one of her passengers, John Hamel, 24, of Holyoke were transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield following the crash, which occurred about 10 p.m., according to police. Davis was listed in fair condition this morning, according to a Baystate spokeswoman. Hamel was treated and released, she said.
Davis reported stomach and neck pain, Hamel’s leg and head were injured, police said.
A second passenger in Davis’ car, Julian Buscemi, 23, of 38 Elizabeth St., Northampton, suffered an injury to his hand but was not taken to a hospital, according to police.
According to police, Davis was driving south when her vehicle crossed over the center line into the northbound lane, striking an oncoming car near 269 Pleasant St.
The driver of that vehicle, Benjamin G. Kudler, 23, of West Hartford, did not report any serious injuries, police said.
Both vehicles had to be towed away; police estimate over $1,000 worth of damage.
