AMHERST — The Amherst Senior Center is warning about a possible scam in which senior citizens are receiving phone calls from people offering emergency alert systems.
Senior Center Director Nancy Pagano said the caller claim to work for the town, but in fact no town employee is responsible for the calls.
“This is a scam,” Pagano said.
Seniors should contact the police if they receive similar calls, she said.
