Area police news


∎ Robert William Auffinger, 36, who provided an address as the streets of Amherst, was arrested Tuesday at 3:03 p.m. on North Pleasant Street on a warrant.


∎ Ashley Jason Parnell, 36, of 20 Hampton Ave., Apt. 506, was arrested about 3:46 a.m. at home on a charge of domestic assault after a verbal argument allegedly escalated, police said.

∎ Jesus Galarza, 40, of Chicopee, was arrested following a traffic stop about 12:27 a.m. Thursday on Finn Street on a Springfield District Court warrant related to motor vehicle violations, police said.

∎ Yasari Garcia, 30, of 81 Conz St., Apt. 604, was arrested about 7:51 p.m. Wednesday at home on an Eastern Hampshire District Court warrant related to unpaid fines, police said.

∎ Paul Arthur Bolduc Jr., 46, of 80 Damon Road, Apt. 5204, was arrested about 3:35 p.m. at home on a charge of being a fugitive from justice on a warrant issued by Connecticut court, police said.

∎ David Carl Baj, 59, of Bridge Road, was arrested Monday at 10:29 a.m. at the VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System campus in Leeds on charges of assault and battery on a police officer and disorderly conduct. A VA spokesman said Baj became disorderly, verbally threatened VA police officers and spat on an officer who was attempting to calm him down. No one was injured.

∎ Sophear IV, 33 of Center St., was arrested Monday at 5:17 p.m. on North King Street on Holyoke District Court warrants related to charges of larceny by a single scheme, larceny by credit card and trespassing, police said.

∎ Raymond Henry Pothier, 65, who gave his address as the streets of Northampton, was arrested Monday at 8:20 p.m. on Main Street on a Northampton District Court warrant related to a trespassing charge, police said.


∎ Alexander J. Hoopes, 18, of Haverhill, was arrested Sunday at 5:54 p.m. at Pierpont dormitory on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

∎ Amanda Lynn Bertino, 21, of Natick, was arrested Saturday at 2:02 a.m. at Field dormitory on charges of domestic assault and battery and malicious destruction of property over $250.
