Northampton police news
∎ Samuel Perez, 24, of Springfield, was arrested Saturday at 11:43 p.m. on Elm Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to stop, and an outstanding warrant out of Springfield District Court for speeding and operating a motor vehicle after suspension. Officers pulled Perez over after he ran a red light on Elm Street near Smith College, police said.
∎ Giovany Javier Colon, 18, and Kyle Joseph Lagoy, 18, both of Holyoke, were arrested Saturday at 8:23 p.m. on Pleasant Street near Service Center Road. Colon faces charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, motor vehicle lights violation and possession of a class D drug (marijuana) with intent to distribute. Lagoy is being charged with possession of a class D drug (marijuana) with intent to distribute. Officers found several plastic baggies of marijuana after stopping Colon for driving without headlights or taillights, police said.
∎ Stephen J. Chute, 36, of 61 Mann Terrace, Florence, was arrested Saturday at 1:04 p.m. at the intersection of Masonic and Main streets on a default warrant out of Northampton District Court for possession of a class A and C drug. Chute also faces two charges of possession of a class C drug (carisoprodol and diazepam) and a charge of possession of a class A drug (morphine sulfate) for items police found during booking, police said.
∎ Thomas Berry, 33, of Turners Falls, was arrested Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Big Y Supermarket at 136 N. King St. on charges of shoplifting by concealing merchandise, and warrants out of Greenfield District Court and Eastern Hampshire District Court. Berry allegedly took six cans of Enfamil baby formula valued at $95.94, police said.
∎ Alex P. Morris, of 80 Elm St., Hatfield, was arrested Saturday at 2:44 a.m. at 375 King St. on charges of operating under the influence of liquor and speeding. Officers stopped Morris for driving 48 mph in a 35 mph zone, and arrested him on the OUI charge after he failed field sobriety tests, police said.
∎ A man filed a report with police against a bouncer at Tully O’Reilly’s, 1 Pearl St., saying he was pushed while being asked to leave the bar. Police said the man filing the report was break dancing and kicked several people in the process of performing his moves.
∎ George Radosavlevic, 41, whose address is listed as the streets of Northampton, was arrested Friday at 11:53 p.m. by VA Medical Center police on a charge of disorderly conduct. Northampton Police will summons Radosavlevic on three charges of possession of class A, B, and E drugs, which officers found during booking. Police said Radosavlevic had eight baggies of heroin, four small bags of crack cocaine and four alprazolam pills.
∎ William Nicholas Coney, 34, of Holyoke, was arrested at 7:39 p.m. Friday at Cooley Dickinson Hospital on a charge of possession to distribute a class B drug (cocaine), subsequent offense. Police said Coney had about 8 grams of cocaine in four baggies when he went to the hospital.
∎ Jesse Adam Pratt, 38, of 80 Damon Road, Apt. 5110, Northampton, was arrested at 3:29 p.m. Friday at Pride Gas Station, 375 King St., on charges of shoplifting by concealing merchandise, third offense, assault and battery, and walking on a railroad track. Police said Pratt tried to steal four cans of beer from the convenience store, but dropped the beer when confronted by a clerk. As he fled, Pratt allegedly pushed the clerk who tried to block the door. Police watched him walk along the railroad tracks and later arrested him along the Connecticut River off Damon Road.
