Area police news


∎ John A. Holowitz, 20, of Arlington, was arrested Monday at 3:33 a.m. on Triangle Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle with a brakes violation.

∎ Rachael A. Kowal, 28, of 117 West St., Hadley, was arrested Monday at 1:44 a.m. on Amity Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (second offense), operating a motor vehicle with no headlights and operating a motor vehicle with no license in possession.


■ Police responding to a call about an unwanted person at the Eastworks Building arrested a 14-year-old child there Thursday at 12:55 a.m. on a charge of underage possession of alcohol and a warrant. At the same time, they arrested Jacob M. Hebert, 17, of 9 Valentine Road, Pittsfield, on a warrant.

■ Geoffrey D. Parsons, 23, of 37 Carillon Circle, was arrested at home Wednesday at 6:26 a.m. on a warrant.

■ John L. Ladue, 27, of 20 Pleasant Green, was arrested at home Tuesday at 1:13 a.m. on charges of assault and battery and disorderly conduct after allegedly throwing a boot at a woman.

■ Natasha Gonzalez, 22, of 893 West St., Amherst, was treated and released from Baystate Medical Center following a Monday afternoon two-car crash at O’Neill and Northampton streets.

Police said that at 12:23 p.m. Gonzalez was attempting to make a left turn from O’Neill Street onto Northampton Street when she pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Peter Henderson, 60, of Sheffield. His vehicle struck Gonzalez’s driver side door and he suffered minor injuries, but was not hospitalized, police said.

First responders had to use the jaws of life to extricate her. Gonzalez was cited for failing to use care in turning, police said.

■ Alicia A. Cahillane, 23, of 69 Maple St., was arrested at home Sunday at 1:04 a.m. on charges of disturbing the peace after police responded three times to her home because of reports that she was intoxicated and screaming.

■ Michael Geryk, 51, of 418 Main St., Apt. 7, was arrested on Strong Street Sunday at 12:01 a.m. on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, speeding and a marked lanes violation.


∎ James Christopher, 27, and Preston J. Kerns, 22, both of Elizabethtown, Ky., were arrested Tuesday at 6:14 p.m. on Route 9 on charges of receiving stolen property over $250 after allegedly taking a vehicle from two women, police said.

Christopher was also arrested on two warrants, police said.

∎ Luke H. Hardy, 50, of Somers, Conn., was arrested Monday at 10:30 p.m. on Route 9 on a warrant.


■ Robert Roy Ouilette, 57, of 43 Center St., Northampton, was arrested about 6:24 p.m. Wednesday at Cooley Dickinson Hospital on a charge of trespassing after allegedly refusing to leave the hospital after being discharged.

■ Police are investigating the reported theft of about $2,600 worth of paperweights from the 1950s and ’60s from a storage unit at Laurel Ridge Apartments. According to police, the alleged theft occurred sometime between Dec. 15 and Jan. 2.

∎ Joseph Walter Theroux, 23, of 5 Walnut St., was arrested about 9:33 p.m. Tuesday on King Street on a Northampton District Court warrant related to an alleged restraining order violation.

∎ Kenneth Dombeck, 20, of Ashland, was arrested about 5:33 p.m. Tuesday on Pine Street on a charge of domestic assault and battery after allegedly poking a woman in the chest during an argument.

∎ Zacharia Rhodes Spaulding, 28, whose address is listed as the streets of Amherst, was arrested about 4:20 p.m. Tuesday at King and Myrtle streets on a Greenfield District Court warrant related to unpaid fines, police said.
