Montague man arraigned on attempted murder charge in Orange shooting
ORANGE (AP) — Corey Sutton, 36, of Montague, was arraigned Monday in Orange District Court on charges of attempted murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a gun, in connection with a Sunday morning shooting on Sunset Drive in Orange.
Orange District Court Judge David Ross set bail at $200,000. Sutton's next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 28.
The victim, who has not been identified, was shot three times and transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. The Northwestern District Attorney's office reported Monday that his condition is stable.
Police told The Recorder of Greenfield that Sutton was taken into custody soon after the shooting.
No motive was immediately disclosed.
