One hospitalized after chain-reaction collisions
NORTHAMPTON — A Holyoke woman was sent to Cooley Dickinson Hospital after being involved in a four-car accident at Bridge and Parson streets Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, about 3 p.m., cars being driven by Joseph Henefield, 63, of Northampton, and Mary Leue, 92, of Ashfield, collided on Bridge Street near its intersection with Parsons Street. After the collision, Henefield’s car struck a tree, and then another car on Bridge Street operated by Felicia Caldwell, 23, of Holyoke, before striking a parked car, according to police.
Caldwell was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital for evaluation of her neck and left shoulder, police said. She was treated and released, according to a hospital spokesperson.
Police estimated over $1,000 damage to each of the vehicles involved. No charges were filed.

■ A vehicle driven by Gary Wilson, 69, of Chicago, and a bicycle ridden by Micha H. Rotich, 21, of 19 Northampton Road, unit 324, collided at the intersection of East Pleasant and Pray streets Tuesday at 7:08 p.m., police said.
Rotich, whose bicycle had no lights or reflectors, suffered a cut lip and was treated at the scene by Amherst Fire Department paramedics, police said. No citations were issued, police said.

Linehan, 48, of Athol, was arrested Sunday at 2:45 p.m. on State Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (second offense), reckless endangerment of a child as the result of operating under the influence of alcohol and possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
■ Christopher R. Ronkese, 36, of 11 Two Ponds Road, was arrested Sept. 20 at 6:51 p.m. at a Belchertown home on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.
■ Joseph Dziadek, 26, who provided an address as the streets of Belchertown, was arrested Sept. 20 at 3:35 p.m. on Turkey Hill Road on seven warrants.
■ Robert W. Chaffee, 21, of Ware, was arrested Sept. 18 at 4:44 a.m. on Jabish Street on a charge of assault and battery.
■ Francis C. Dowland, 40, of 26 Center St., was arrested at his home Tuesday at 10:35 a.m. on a charge of domestic assault and battery. Police said they responded to a 911 call requesting an ambulance for a woman who fell down the stairs and lost consciousness, but found that she had a black eye and other injuries not consistent with falling down the stairs. They determined that Dowland, who had cuts and abrasions, was responsible for her injuries.
Police said the woman was taken by ambulance to Cooley Dickinson Hospital and was treated and released.
■ Two people were arrested when police responded to a call about a disabled motor vehicle on Mountain Road Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. Rachel Wells, 25, and Justin J. Jaworski, 28, both of Chicopee, were arrested on warrants.
■ A city woman whose car veered off Louise Avenue and struck a garage Sunday morning told police she was distracted when her cellphone rang.
Nicole Bell, 20, of 25 South St., was not injured in the 1:13 a.m. crash. She was cited for failure to stay within marked lanes. Police said the garage suffered “substantial damage” as a result of the crash.
■ Peter Stone, 55, of 150 Glendale Road, Florence, was arrested about 10:57 p.m. Tuesday at home on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
■ William Parker, 43, of 45 Strong Road, Southampton, was arrested about 4:59 p.m. Tuesday on Bridge Road on a pair of Northampton District Court warrants.
■ Michael Patrick Butler, 18, of Duxbury, was arrested Sept. 27 at 6:28 p.m. at Thoreau dormitory on a warrant.
