Toni Hochstadt’s eye-catching professional flair drew the attention of the Style Stop team as she walked along Main Street in Northampton recently. As a housing services coordinator for Community Action, Hochstadt says, she has to dress for housing court twice a week, but she doesn’t let work mute her self-expression.

Her flair: I work with people in business suits, but I like to be funky and professional. There was a time when I would wear dreadlocks to court. Hopefully broke some stereotypes there.

Where to find her look: These two pieces are from a micro-boutique in Montreal. They’re in the Plateau neighborhood. Many of the designers have their own boutiques there. If you think about the neighborhoods around here, it’s a lot like that.

A little bit of everywhere: There are definitely some shops in town I find stuff at. My partner and I shop at The Artisan Gallery and Pinch, but Montreal is definitely on my agenda to go back to and shop. I also thrift shop because you never know what you’re going to find.

Versatile footwear: I’m a mom so there’s a transformation that happens when I go home. I can’t wear the nice things I wear to work, but I try to have comfy and funky footwear I can wear for work and home.
