On a frigid afternoon this week, the Style Stop team wondered if Northampton resident Nicole Nihan’s fingers weren’t awfully cold. They were, just a little, she said, but she had good reasons to wear her fingerless gloves anyway.

GLOVES: My grandmother made them for me. They come up my arms so they help out the three-quarter-length sleeves on my jacket.
JACKET: The fur — well, the fake fur — yelled out to me. It just screamed rock star, which I’m not. I got it at Forever 21 for about $30. This is my second winter rocking it.
BOOTS: I want to say I got these at Macy’s about three years ago. They’ve got a chunky heel so they’re easy to walk in.
PANTS: They’re almost like capris. I liked them because they reminded me of the ’50s.

FUN WITH FASHION: My family and friends do make fun of me sometimes — I like clothes and shopping.
WHERE SHE BUYS: Lately, online at Ruche. It’s a warehouse in California where you can get $100 clothes for 20 to 30 bucks. They’re a season behind, but what does it matter?
FASHION MISTAKE LOTS OF PEOPLE MAKE: Not being risky
HER STYLE: Anything loud. I guess being a teacher I have to get the kids to pay attention to me.
