Bang Bang Body Arts on Armory Street in Northampton was buzzing with the sound of ink meeting skin last Sunday as local tattoo artists participated in “Food Tattoos for Hunger,” a world-wide charitable event in which all proceeds from the day went to fighting hunger.

Tattoo artists offered customers the option of a food-themed tattoo or any tattoo of a similar size. Customers brought in canned goods to be donated to an area food bank.

Two artists, Heidi King and Josh Vight, volunteered their time at the tattoo and piercing shop for the event, and in something of a marathon, they completed 12 tattoos in less than six hours.
