Suspect seen fleeing car break in Amherst — and other area police news
■Police are investigating an incident on Pine Street reported at 8:21 p.m. Sunday in which a man got into a garage and fled when observed, dropping an iPhone charger he had taken from a vehicle. The suspect has not been found.
■Robert Joseph Zakaitis, 37, of 11 Landy Ave., Florence, was arrested at 475 Market Hill Road, at 7:35 p.m. Sunday on a Northampton police charge of domestic assault and battery in connection with an argument at his home that allegedly turned physical.
■Joseph Charles Russell, 24, of 161 Pine St., Unit E, was arrested at 4 a.m. Sunday at home on a warrant.
■Katelyn Joy Pascale, 21, of Palmer, was arrested at 1:28 a.m. Sunday on Fearing Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle to endanger and failure to stay within marked lanes.
■Phaly Lach, 49, of 81 Belchertown Road, Unit 25, was arrested at 5:16 p.m. Saturday on South East Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (second offense), speeding and failure to stay within marked lanes.
■Nyima Dhondup, 39, of 104 Rocky Hill Road, was arrested at 5:21 p.m. Sunday at a Hadley home on a charge of violating an abuse prevention order.
■Christopher Dahlinger, 22, of 187 West St., Apt. 18, Hatfield, was arrested about 9:32 p.m. Sunday on Union Street on an Eastern Hampshire District Court warrant on charges of witness intimidation, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after the vehicle in which he was a passenger was stopped for an inspection sticker violation.
■Drew E. Gath, 20, of 38 North Valley Road, Pelham, was arrested at 10:10 p.m. Friday during a joint patrol with Amherst police on a charge of disorderly conduct.
