Area police news

Amherst

∎ Taija Hanna, 27, of 27 Montague Road, Unit 4, was arrested at 6:09 a.m. Friday at an Amherst home on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Police said the victim did not require medical attention.

∎ Colin Ross Hurd, 22, of West Tisbury, was arrested at 1:41 a.m. Friday on Sunrise Avenue on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle to endanger and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Police said his vehicle hit a parked vehicle.

∎ Gabriel Yobenny Correa, 22, of Springfield, was arrested at 9:40 p.m. Thursday at an Amherst home on charges of domestic assault and battery and assault and battery on a pregnant woman.

Police said the victim did not suffer any physical injuries.

∎ Gretchen Miller, 41, of 91 Hulst Road, was arrested at 8:11 p.m. Thursday at an Amherst home on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Police said the victim did not require medical attention.

∎ Tristan Howard Chapman, 21, of New York City, was arrested at 1:35 a.m. Friday on Bay Road on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle to endanger and failure to stay within marked lanes.

Northampton

∎ Stephen R. Duffy, 26, of 86 Beacon St., Florence, was arrested at 12:55 a.m. Friday on that street on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor, second offense, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Police stopped Duffy after watching him drive erratically.

∎ Robert Hicks, 45, of 491 Bridge Road, Apt. 424, was arrested at 12:35 a.m. Friday at Market and Union streets on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense, and a number plate violation.

∎ A Sylvester Road resident who took a picture of the harvest moon from her yard Thursday night notified police after spotting a man dressed in camouflage in one corner of the photograph. Police are investigating.

UMass

∎ Emily Frances Barrett, 22, of Marlborough, was arrested at 1:42 a.m. Monday on North Pleasant Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle with a lights violation.
