NORTHAMPTON — A Berkshire County man was cited Wednesday after police determined he was responsible for a five-car, chain-reaction collision on Pleasant Street.
Jamie J. Daigle, 38, of Becket, was cited for failure to use care in stopping, police said.
Four cars were stopped near the intersection of Pleasant and Armory streets about 12:08 p.m. when Daigle’s vehicle approached. He was “not paying attention and looking down” when he struck one of the cars, resulting in the chain-reaction crash, according to police.
Daigle reported pain in his right hand and another driver complained of neck pain but no one required transportation to a hospital, police said.
