Northampton Police Association begins charity fund drive
NORTHAMPTON — The Northampton Police Association has begun a monthlong charity fundraising campaign.
Employees of TCI America of Seekonk will be calling Northampton residents on behalf of the police association between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on weekdays.
All calls for the drive will be made from a temporary office in Northampton and donation collectors will have a Northampton Police Association ID card displayed when they are representing the association, according to a statement from police.
This fundraising drive will be the only one associated with the police association throughout the year.
The association’s charity account provides financial assistance to charities and organizations in the area focusing on youth activities and sports. A list of the agencies and programs that benefitted from the association’s donations is available by request from the Northampton Police Department.
Last year, approximately $25,000 was donated from the account, according to the association.
Any questions regarding the drive verification should be directed to the Northampton Public Safety Center ad 413-587-1100. Comments or questions can also be directed to association president Capt. Scott A. Savino or association vice president Sgt. David A. Callahan, both of whom can be reached at the same number.
