Sgt. Alan Borowski promoted, Lt. Jody Kasper to lead Northampton police detective bureau
NORTHAMPTON — The Northampton Police Department has announced changes within its ranks.
Lt. Jody D. Kasper, 38, has been selected as the department’s new detective lieutenant, replacing retiring Detective Lt. Kenneth Watson whose last day was Friday.
Kasper will oversee the five detectives within the bureau and also attended a two-week training and orientation program, according to the department.
Kasper has master’s degrees from Westfield State University, one in criminal justice and the other in public administration.
Sgt. Alan C. Borowski, 40, will be promoted from a general investigator in the detective bureau to lieutenant, taking over duties as the 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift commander.
In preparation for the promotion, Borowski took part in a two-week training and orientation program.
Borowski is a Northampton native and 16-year veteran of the force who received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Curry College in Milton, according to the department.
