Car allegedly abandoned after crash
EASTHAMPTON — Ashleigh R. Patton, 27, of 48 Strong Road, Southampton, will be summoned to Northampton District Court on a charge of leaving the scene of property damage after police found her vehicle down a steep embankment, crashed into a cement wall, on the north side of Ward Avenue overlooking the Manhan Rail Trail, near the intersection with Park Street.
Someone walking on the trail reported finding the vehicle Sunday at 6:07 a.m. Police Sgt. Bruce Nicol said when police contacted Patton about her vehicle, she said the accident occurred at 1:30 a.m. and she had decided to wait until the morning to report it and remove the vehicle.
■ Multiple purses were reported stolen Saturday at 1:55 p.m. from a vehicle parked on State Street near Puffer’s Pond. Police said entry was gained through a window smashed out sometime after 11:45 a.m.
■ Daniel R. Ryznic, 62, of Bristol, Conn., drove his vehicle off Northampton Road at University Drive Saturday at 6:06 a.m., getting stuck in a grassy and muddy area, police said.
Ryznic didn’t have visible injuries but was transported by Amherst Fire Department ambulance to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton for evaluation, police said.
■ Vehicles driven by Barbara Morrison, 21, of Westford, and Peter Righi, 63, of 3 Lukes Way, Easthampton, collided at the underpass on Snell Street Friday at 4:28 p.m., police said.
Morrison suffered a laceration to her chin and Righi and passenger Cathy L. Marion, 62, also of 3 Lukes Way, Easthampton, complained of head and neck pain, police said.
All three people were transported by Amherst Fire Department ambulances to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton for treatment, police said.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene, according to police.
■ Alfred Christian II, 43, of Chicopee, was arrested Friday at 3:33 p.m. on North Street on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
■ Ryan J. Brennan, 26, of 370 Blue Meadow Road, was arrested June 4 at 2:22 a.m. at a Federal Street location on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
■ Aaron C. Caldwell-Rose, 22, of 65 River Road, was arrested June 3 at 2:25 p.m. at a Belchertown home on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
■ David Sando, 45, of Springfield, was arrested Sunday at 12:34 a.m. at Holyoke and Hendrick streets on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (second offense), possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and failing to stay within marked lanes.
■ Kara Troutman, 38, of 44 Ridgewood Terrace, was arrested on Cottage Street Saturday at 8:30 p.m. on a warrant.
■ Daniel F. Cummings, 57, of 14 Federal St., was arrested at home Saturday at 6:28 p.m. on a warrant.
■ Jeffrey R. Spiller Jr., 26, of 41 Parsons St., was arrested at home Friday at 8:10 p.m. on a warrant.
■ Police responding to a report of a vehicle broken down on Mountain Road arrested the driver, William J. Robinson, 51, of 7 Walnut St., South Hadley, Friday at 5:42 p.m. on charges of obstructing traffic, refusing to identify himself to police and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense) and on a warrant.
■ Enrique Ortiz, 32, of 21 Campus Plaza Road, Unit 14, was arrested Sunday at 12:58 p.m. on University Drive in Amherst on charges of domestic assault and battery and violating an abuse prevention order.
■ Police are investigating a report of a pipe apparently thrown through the window of the Fitzgerald Fences building on Bridge Road sometime between 5 p.m. Friday and 6:30 a.m. Monday.
■ Connor J. Sarno, 30, of 21 Prospect St. Apt. 1, was arrested about 10:59 p.m. Sunday on Phillips Place on a charge of domestic assault and battery. According to police, Sarno allegedly pushed a woman to the ground during an argument.
■ Lance Lamboley, 36, of Plainville, Conn. was arrested about 4:24 p.m. Sunday on Pleasant Street on a charge of domestic assault and battery after allegedly grabbing a woman by the back of the neck and shoving her during an argument.
