Pioneer Valley Wildlife
Jackie Brodeur of Westhampton took this picture of birds “socializing” around her heated birdbath in February of 2007. “It had been a mild, snow-free winter so far and many of our bluebirds had stuck around,” Brodeur wrote in an email to the Gazette. She said the birds were socializing “as if around a hot tub. A few days later we had a big snow storm and they left until spring.”
The Pioneer Valley Wildlife slideshow features reader-submitted photos of their run-ins with wild animals in Hampshire and Franklin counties. Daily Hampshire Gazette and www.gazettenet.com are still collecting readers’ pictures for publication in our online photo gallery and occasionally in print. Send your photos to email@example.com. Please include your name, what town you’re from, when and where the photo was taken as well as the kind of animal featured in your picture.
And have fun with it!
