Two injuries, one arrest result from three Sunday night accidents in Northampton
NORTHAMPTON — Three single-vehicle crashes within a one-hour span Sunday night left two drivers injured and one under arrest, as well as causing damage to two utility poles and the Florence Fire Station.
The first accident came at 7:17 p.m., when a vehicle pulling a trailer went off Hatfield Street, crashing into both a tree and utility pole, said Police Lt. Jody Kasper.
Karen Bouquillon, 56, of Montgomery, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and possession of a class B substance, Kasper said.
At 7:30 p.m., a vehicle went off 138 Cross Path Road into a utility pole. A man inside the vehicle suffered non life-threatening injuries, Kasper said. He was taken by Northampton Fire Department ambulance to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for treatment, Kasper said.
At around 8 p.m., a vehicle struck the Florence Fire Station at 69 Maple St. The driver, who is not being identified, suffered non life-threatening injuries and was taken by Northampton ambulance to Baystate, Kasper said.
Kasper said no firefighters inside the station were injured.
