Tuesday crash sends woman to hospital
NORTHAMPTON — A two-car collision at the intersection of Summer and State streets Tuesday evening sent a South Deerfield woman to the hospital.
According to police, Geneva Bickford, 36, of 9 King Philip Ave., was taken by ambulance to Cooley Dickinson Hospital after complaining of chest pain from being struck by her car’s airbag.
Bickford was treated and released, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
According to police, about 5:04 p.m. a car driven by David Clopp of Perryopolis, Pa., was traveling east on Summer Street and pulled into the intersection after having stopped at the stop sign.
Bickford was traveling north on State Street and told police she saw Clopp pull out but was unable to stop before the collision, according to police reports.
No citations were issued, police said.

∎ William Pavlenkov, 23, of Winchester, was arrested Wednesday at 1:01 a.m. on North East Street on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
∎ Lawrence Senecal, 51, of 421 North Main St., Northampton, was arrested Tuesday at 9:10 p.m. at a downtown residence on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.
∎ Eneida Aracelli Sermeno, 23, of 61 Main St., Unit A, was arrested Tuesday at 9:07 p.m. on Main Street on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
∎ A man reported that his vehicle was broken into and several items were stolen Sunday at 9:23 p.m. on Russell Street. The man who reported the incident is an employee of Chili’s Grill & Bar, and the vehicle was parked in the parking lot, police said.
∎ William Patrick Nace, 36, of 80 Williams St., Apt. 2B, was arrested about 1:12 a.m. Wednesday on King Street on a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor after being stopped for having a headlight out, police said.
