Area police news
■ A 19-year-old Holyoke man will be summoned to court on a charge of breaking and entering during the nighttime after he entered the community room at Jean Elder Apartments, 9 Chestnut St., and was dound asleep there Saturday at 8:16 a.m., police said.
■ Gina L. Forni, 33, of Palmer, was arrested Friday at 1:42 p.m. at a Belchertown home on a charge of assault and battery, police said.
■ Myrian Irizarry, 43, of Springfield, was arrested July 24 at 9:07 p.m. at a Belchertown home on a charge of assault and battery, police said.
■ Michael F. Dashnaw, 66, of 41 Everett Ave., unit 22 C, was arrested July 23 at 11:45 a.m. at a Blchertown home on a charge of violating a harassment prevention order, police said.
■ Melissa E. Wildman, 42, of 197 Allen Road, was arrested July 23 at 8:53 a.m. at a Belchertown home on charges of assault and battery on a pregnant woman and assault and battery, police said.
Wildman was also arrested JUly 22 at 11:43 p.m. at a Belcehrtown home on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon, police said.
■ Police are investigating the reported theft of $3,000 to $5,000 worth of power tools from the Florence Community Center building on Pine Street. According to police, sometime between 8 p.m., Monday and 6 a.m., Tuesday, the building was entered and the equipment taken. Tuesday morning, police said it wasn’t clear if the building was locked.
■ About 4:30 p.m. Monday, police responded to a report of a man on North Maple Street with a gun. Police found the man who told them the only “guns” he had were his biceps, which he then flexed for officers. Police searched the man’s residence and found no weapons apart from a toy water gun.
■ Mabvuto Tsonga, 37, of 34 North Pleasant St., Amherst, was arrested Sunday at 11:26 p.m. on Eastman Lane on a charge of trespassing and on a warrant, police said.
