SNOW BUNTING Honey Pot area, off Cemetery Road, Hadley Photograph and text by Anne E. Ely of South Hadley I had my “ahh” moment” of the day when I saw the result of this image capture. While the other birds were racing around grabbing leftover kernels of corn from last year’s cornfield , this little snow bunting appeared to be shyly posing for the camera. Taking advantage of his brief pause, I quickly pointed my digital DSLR camera with telephoto lens out of my parked car window and clicked. Here are this week’s bird sightings from the Western Voice of Audubon. Migrant birds reported on the Connecticut River included northern pintails, ring-necked ducks, bufflehead, common goldeneyes, hooded mergansers and common mergansers.
