The Franklin-Hampshire Chapter of PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbian and Gays) offers welcoming support, education and advocacy for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people, their families, friends and allies.

The next meeting is June 11, 6 to 8 p.m., in the conference room of Highland Valley Elder Services in the Cutlery Building, 320 Riverside Drive, Northampton. Movement classes for people with Parkinson’s Disease, including seated dance, yoga, vocal work and more, will be offered in Hadley beginning June 26.

The Cooley Dickinson Center for Midwifery Care invites residents to celebrate the center’s fifth anniversary and the birth of nearly 850 babies. The event will be held June 15, 1 to 3 p.m., on the lawn outside the Center for Midwifery Care. Participants are encouraged to bring cookies to share; milk and lemonade will be provided.


Robert J. Campbell, M.D., a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, adult spine surgeon, and orthopedic trauma surgeon, has joined Cooley Dickinson Hospital’s medical staff. He sees patients at Hampshire Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Hatfield.

Campbell received his medical degree with honors from Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston. Most recently he worked at Orthopedic Care Specialists, an orthopedic practice in southeastern Massachusetts; previously, he served four years as an active duty orthopedic surgeon in U.S. Army and completed a tour in Afghanistan.
