Hospice of the Fisher Home in Amherst will offer two seven-week general support groups for those who have experienced the death of a loved one. Participants explore their reactions to loss, learn about the grieving process, develop strategies for coping and begin to integrate this change into their lives.
Sessions run Feb. 5 to March 19, 10 a.m. to noon and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fisher Home. The program is free, but a phone interview is required for registration. For more information and/or to call for an interview please contact Norma at (413) 549-0115
MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS EXERCISE GROUP
An eight-week exercise group for those with multiple sclerosis will be held Mondays at The Atkinson Building, 17 Research Drive, Amherst.
The group runs Feb. 5 to March 25. Classes are held from noon to 1 p.m. The program includes stretches and exercises to improve functional mobility skills including balance, sit to stand, bed mobility, walking and stairs. Preregistration is mandatory as space is limited.

A new, six-week series of childbirth education classes will be held weekday evenings, to assist working parents-to-be.
Topics include an overview of labor and birth, coping strategies, medications and interventions, baby care and breastfeeding basics, postpartum care and a tour of the Childbirth Center.
TIPS FOR A HEALTHY HEART
Community members are invited to attend “And the Beat Goes On: Tips for Healthy Heart,” Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. in the Dakin Conference Room at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
Cooley Dickinson Emergency Department physician R.F. Conway, M.D., provides advice about keeping your heart in shape so you can enjoy a longer, healthier life. John Shaw, a certified American Heart Association instructor and retired EMT, will talk about the benefits of learning CPR and how to use an automated external defibrillator.
