COMMUNITY RESOURCES FAIR

A Community Resources Fair will be held Saturday, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., at the First Congregational Church, 165 Main St., Amherst.

The event features spot services such as blood pressure checks and help applying to MassHealth, the Health Connector and SNAP. Visitors can also get information on shelter and housing, food services, health care services, mental health support, education and advocacy and disaster preparedness.

Participating organizations include Community Health Center of Franklin County, AEIOU, Not Bread Alone, First Congregational Church of Amherst, TAPESTRYhealth, The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, Amherst Community Connections, Health Care For All, Hilltown Community Health Centers, American Red Cross, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

PARKINSON’S WELLNESS PROGRAM

A seven-week exercise program for those with Parkinson’s disease will be offered beginning March 4 at the Hampshire Regional YMCA in Northampton.

The class meets Tuesdays and Fridays, from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m.

Participants also will learn problem-solving approaches to manage mobility, self care, handwriting, communication challenges, nutrition and strategies to optimize daily quality of life.

INFANT AND TODDLER PARENTING

“Tears and Tantrums,” a workshop for parents of infants and toddlers, will be offered Feb. 17 and 26 at Grow in Northampton.

Participants learn the reasons for crying and tantrums. They will also learn how to respond in a way that strengthens the parent-child bond and improves sleep and behavior issues.
