American International College

Student-athletes recognized for their academic achievement at the college in Springfield include: from Amherst, Zach Jackson, a member of the men’s lacrosse team with an undeclared major, and Ernest Mitchell, a member of the men’s rugby team, a nursing major; from Belchertown, Ethan Auffrey, a member of the men’s lacrosse team, a physical therapy major, Stefanie Dufresne a member of the women’s lacrosse team and a health sciences major, and Kelsey Fleurent, a member of the cheer team and a physical therapy major; from Florence, Nathan Barron, a member of the men’s lacrosse team, a sport and recreation management major; from South Hadley, Zak Guenther, a member of the men’s lacrosse team and a economics/finance major, and Jonathan Horstman, a member of the men’s indoor and outdoor track and cross country team, and a criminal justice major.

Belchertown

Air Force Airman Sean P. Kennedy, son of John and Monica Kennedy, graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Kennedy earned distinction as an honor graduate. The airman is a 2012 graduate of Belchertown High School.

Allison Greco graduated from Colby-Sawyer College in New London, N.H., on May 11, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Deerfield

Catherine Moulton of Deerfield, graduated from Colby Sawyer College in New London, N.H., on May 11, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training.

Easthampton

Air Force Airman 1st Class Tyler D. Krzanowski, son of Stan Krzanowski, of Easthampton, and Lori Hernandez, of Lakewood, Colo., graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Krzanowski earned distinction as an honor graduate. The airman is a 2008 graduate of Easthampton High School.

Florence

Air Force Reserve Airman Sovannary Kay, daughter of Sayvun Suon, of Florence, and sister of Sopheary Kay of Utica, N.Y., graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Kay is a 2008 graduate of Thomas R. Proctor Senior High School, Utica, N.Y.

South Hadley

Tess Gauthier, a 2013 graduate of South Hadley High School, received the George H. McDonnell Scholarship, awarded by Tighe & Bond, Westfield, to graduating South Hadley seniors. She plans to attend Boston University to study engineering. Besides working for the South Hadley Recreation Department as a summer camp counselor, she is a member of the National Honor Society, and a coordinator for the South Hadley Youth Commission. She was also vice president of the Student Council in her senior year, and captain of the varsity softball team.
