Ryan Diplock will travel to Russia, India, and China this fall to study business as part of his studies at Babson College in Wellesley. He is entering his junior year.
Garrick H. Gu and Seamus J. O’Neill, both members of the class of 2013, were named to the spring semester dean’s list at Phillips Academy, Andover.
Kimberly Pavlovich, daughter of Barbara and Joseph Pavlovich and a graduate of Northampton High School, has received a Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship. She will attend Endicott College, Beverly, in the fall.
Hampshire Regional High School
Bailly Walunas, a student council representative and sophomore class president, and Katie Kirouac, a freshmen and Project 351 participant, both at Hampshire Regional High School, attended the Coalition for the Advancement of Student Activities’ Student Leadership Training Program at Nichols College in Dudley the week of July 23-27.
The conferences are five-day workshops which bring together student leaders from the United States and Canada. They are designed to increase self- understanding and confidence, foster development of leadership skills, improve communication skills, and define the role of student leaders.
James (Jamie) Thomson, son of Ann McEwen and David Thomson, was named to the spring semster dean’s list at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He will be a senior at Skidmore this fall.
University of Massachusetts, Lowell
The following local residents were named to the spring semester dean’s list at the school in Lowell. They are listed by hometowns, with their majors.
Amherst: Benjamin Boisclair, nursing; Ryan Mitchell, economics; and Thomas Mitchell, business administration.
Belchertown: Adam Luippold, exercise physiology.
Easthampton: Grace Fogue, nursing.
Florence: Ryan Cummings, economics.
Huntington: Victoria Slowick, biology.
South Hadley: Leah Murphy, exercise physiology.
Southampton: Andrew Glosick, business administration, and Peter Larsen, biology.
Samantha Kabat, daughter of Bob and Debra Kabat, has received her certification as a surgical technologist. A graduate of Holyoke Community College, and of McCann Technical High School in North Adams, she is now employed at Baystate Franklin Hospital in Greenfield as a surgical technologist.
Williston Northampton Academy
Sean M. McCarty, son of William and Carlene McCarty of Brattleboro, Vt., a resident of Hampton, N.H, and a graduate of The Williston Northampton School in Easthampton, recently earned a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering Technology from Excelsior College, Albany, N.Y.
