American International College
The following residents received academic awards at the Springfield college:

Bridget Footit, of Amherst, received the Henry W. A. Hanson Award at Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Pa., during spring honors day ceremonies.
Emily Barstow and Jessica Fortin, both of Amherst, have received Faculty Honors for the spring semester from Trinity College, Hartford, Conn.
The following residents graduated from the Worcester college on May 11:

The following residents have been named to first honors on the spring semester dean’s list at the Worcester university:
Matthew V. Furman of Southampton, Eli R. Goldman of Florence, Stephanie L. Grabowski of Granby, Seamus E. O’Connor of South Hadley, and Charlotte Turner of Williamsburg.
Mary Ann Corbo Connors was presented with the Distinguished Alumni Leadership Award from Seton Hill University, Greensburg, Pa. Corbo Connors graduated from Seton Hill University in 1964. She has influenced and educated students in her six-decade career in mathematics education in private, public, parochial and military institutions at the elementary, secondary, college and university levels. She was among the first group of laywomen to earn a master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Notre Dame in 1967. She went on to receive a doctorate in education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1995 and was among the first group of civilian women mathematics professors at West Point in 1997. Now a professor of mathematics at Westfield State University, she has written numerous papers, contributed to national publications, and has presented at many conferences and seminars. She has been married to her mentor and best friend, Dr. Edward Connors, for 43 years. The Connors have two grown children, James and Kathleen.
Katherine A. McKemmie, daughter of Shelley Thibodo and Jim McKemmie of Easthampton, has been named to the spring semeter dean’s list at Simmons College, Boston. McKemmie is entering her sophomore year as a Nursing major.
Sarah Gagnon received a bachelor’s degree in science from Emory College of Arts and Sciences of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., on May 13.
Talia Baghdoyan, daughter of Susan Zuroff and Dwight Baghdoyan of Goshen, has been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Duke University, Durham, N.C. Baghdoyan is a 2010 graduate of Northampton High School. Her parents own the Williamsburg Animal Clinic LLC.
Nathan Bombardier was named to the spring semester dean’s list at the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Ind.
The following residents have been named to spring semester dean’s list at the Appleton, Wis. university:
Austin Federa, son of Danielle Federa of Amherst and Richard Moran of South Hadley, and a 2009 graduate of Amherst Regional High School; Ellie Williamson, daughter of Patrick and Anne Williamson of Amherst, and a 2009 graduate of Amherst Regional High School; and Will Melnick of Florence, a 2010 graduate of Academy At Charlemont.
Margaret Yurgielewicz, daughter of James Yurgielewicz and Nancy Miller of Leeds, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Wheaton College in Norton. She is currently spending five weeks in Tanzania, East Africa, participating in an education and development course. She has visited the cities of Arusha, Moshi, and Rongai, where she is tutoring English to high school students. The last week of her trip will be spent hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Yurgielewicz will spend the fall semester studying abroad at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. She is majoring in anthropology.
Gabe Kaufman, son of Oran Kaufman and Danielle Barshak of Leverett, will attend Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware, Ohio this fall, where he will study zoology. He is a graduate of Amherst Regional High School.
Nural Mohammed has been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Wheelock College, Boston.
Plymouth State University
The following residents have been named to the spring semester president’s list at the Plymouth, N.H. university: Victoria Weltlich of Southampton and Jessica Wentworth of Belchertown.
Rochester Institute of Technology
The following residents graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, N.Y. in the spring: Jill Carter, of Worthington, earned a bachelor’s degree in ASL-English interpretation; and Lindsey Higginbotham, of Florence, earned a bachelor’s degree in professional photographic illustration.
Silvain Castellano has been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Western Connecticut State University, Danbury, Conn.
Marissa Dombkowski has been named to the Provost’s List at Hofstra University, Hempstead, N.Y. Dombkowski is a senior majoring in public relations.
Emily M.T. Munska, daughter of Jim and Barbara Munska of Southampton, was named to the spring dean’s list at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Meaghan Goodrow has been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Elms College, Chicopee.
Amanda Jane Bennett, daughter of Bruce and Debra Bennett of Sunderland, was inducted into the Beta of Illinois Chapter Phi Beta Kappa on June 13. Bennett is majoring in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at the University of Chicago, Class of 2014.
University at Albany
The following local residents received degrees from the Albany, N.Y. university during graduation ceremonies during Commencement Weekend in May: Chris Mullen, of Easthampton, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree; and Carmel Schettino, of Deerfield, graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy degree.
University of Rhode Island
The following residents have been named to the spring semester dean’s list at the Kingston, R.I. university:
