Annual roast beef dinner set for Saturday in Hatfield
HATFIELD — The First Congregational Church of Hatfield will host its annual roast beef supper Saturday. Organizers say the event promises to take a little of the chill out of the winter, with a hot meal and warm friendship.
“We have different suppers during the year and the roast beef supper is always around this time. It is a very popular event,” church member Linda Milewski said.
The church will provide both take-out meals, available from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and sit-down meals, which will be served from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The menu features roast beef and gravy, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, squash, green beans, onions, rolls, coffee, tea and an assortment of pies including coconut cream, chocolate cream, lemon meringue, squash and banana cream.
Traditionally the event draws over 200 people.
“We usually we serve 80 in the first serving, another 80 in the second serving and more than 60 meals for take-out,” Milewski said.
The cost is $12 for adults, and $6 for children age 10 and under.
