200 Years Ago

Jonathan Judd has received an additional supply of piece goods, hard and hollow wares, and has an assortment of groceries and other articles on hand, and would exchange them for grain, white beans, flax and flax seed.

Crooks & Phelps have just received and offer for sale at their shop, No. 16 Merchant’s Row, directly opposite the meeting house, a complete assortment of goods in their line, including English and French watches, gilt and steel watch chains, seals and keys, ear hoops and knobs of various patterns.

100 Years Ago

Admiral Cook attended the great football contest between the army and navy teams Saturday and naturally was much pleased to see the navy boys wallop the West Pointers.

Several big shipments of spruce Christmas trees from Maine and other northern points passed through the city during the past week and a number of cars laden with the green trees were seen today.

50 Years Ago

The annual Christmas party of Northampton Guild, Holy Family League of Charity, will be held at the Sportsmen’s Club in Hadley Monday evening, Dec. 10.

The state Dept. of Public Works has filed landtakings in the Hampshire County Registry of Deeds for 83 parcels of land that make up the final link of Rte. 91, from the Coolidge Memorial Bridge to the Hatfield line.
