Williston football closes season with 46-20 win over Tabor

The Williston Northampton football team capped its season in style Saturday with a 46-20 victory over Tabor Academy in Marion.

The Wildcats scored 26 unanswered points in the second half to finished finish its year 6-2.

Ledell Robinson scored four touchdowns, including the final three scores of the day to pace Williston. Robinson ran for 170 yards on 18 carries and was 9 of 16 for 121 yards and a TD.

Williston rushed for 453 yards. Nick Garofano had 142 yards on 18 carries, while Anthony Cruz had 135 on 11 touches. Cruz also returned a kick 90 yards for a score.

Robinson returned an interception 76 yards for a TD.

Pat St. Martin (Easthampton) had seven tackles recovered a fumble, while Zach Pyser (Easthampton) kicked four extra points.

Among the seniors who played their final game were tricaptain Alex Massengill (Amherst), Pyser, St. Martin, and Mikey Thomson (Northampton).

Girls cross country

Caroline Sullivan (South Hadley) placed fourth overall for Northfield Mount Hermon at the NEPSTA Division 1 championship at St. Paul’s School in Concord, N.H., Saturday.

Northfield placed 13th.

Deerfield, led by a third-place finish by Devinne Cullinane, won the team title.
